This year, the IPL 2026 match schedule follows a clean two-slot system. Most matches are evening fixtures at 7:30 PM IST. During double header days, the afternoon game starts at 3:30 PM IST.

A few things worth knowing about the 2026 IPL schedule venues. Rajasthan Royals are temporarily playing home games in Guwahati (instead of Jaipur) for the first few matches, due to the assembly elections in Rajasthan. Later in the season, they shift back to their Jaipur home. Similarly, Punjab Kings split their home games between New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, while RCB plays five home games in Bengaluru and two in Raipur.
The Chinnaswamy Stadium situation is the most sensitive one. After the tragic stampede during RCB’s 2025 victory parade that claimed 11 lives, Karnataka government set up an Expert Committee to evaluate the stadium’s safety. The inspection happens on March 13, 2026. If clearance isn’t given, alternate venues may be used for Bengaluru matches.
