The IPL 2026 schedule is finally here. BCCI officially announced the Tata IPL 2026 Phase 1 schedule on March 11, 2026. The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League kicks off on March 28, 2026 with defending champions RCB hosting SRH at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Here is the complete IPL 2026 match schedule with all dates, times, venues, and teams — all in one place.

Let’s be honest — every year, the IPL schedule announcement is one of the most-searched events in Indian cricket. And 2026 is no different. The BCCI waited longer than usual to release the fixtures because three state assembly elections were coming up — Tamil Nadu, Assam, and West Bengal. Due to that, only Phase 1 has been released right now.

But the good news? We have 20 matches worth of action locked in, covering all 10 teams across 10 cities. The full IPL schedule 2026 for Phase 2 will come once election dates are announced.

IPL 2026 Match Timings — Day & Evening

Two time slots for all matches in Phase 1, as officially confirmed by BCCI.

This year, the IPL 2026 match schedule follows a clean two-slot system. Most matches are evening fixtures at 7:30 PM IST. During double header days, the afternoon game starts at 3:30 PM IST.

🕐 Official Match Timings — IPL 2026

Afternoon Matches (Double Headers): 3:30 PM IST—applies only on double header days when two matches are scheduled at the same time.
Evening Matches (Standard): 7:30 PM IST — this is the default time for all regular and second doubleheader matches. The toss happens around 7:00 PM IST.
Double Headers in Phase 1: April 4, April 11, and April 12 all have two matches each. So if you're planning your IPL viewing calendar for IPL schedule 2026, mark these dates in red.

The afternoon slot is perfect for weekend viewing. Those 3:30 PM games land right when you’re done with lunch and settling on the couch. The 7:30 PM evening slot has been the classic IPL primetime for years—it works for working fans who get home by 7 PM.

All 10 Teams in IPL 2026 — Captains & Squads

Here are all 10 franchises in the Tata IPL 2026, along with their current captains.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Captain: Rajat Patidar · Defending Champions

Mumbai Indians

Captain: Hardik Pandya

Chennai Super Kings

Captain: Ruturaj Gaikwad

Kolkata Knight Riders

Captain: Ajinkya Rahane

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Captain: Pat Cummins

Delhi Capitals

Captain: Axar Patel

Gujarat Titans

Captain: Shubman Gill

Rajasthan Royals

Captain: Riyan Parag

Lucknow Super Giants

Captain: Rishabh Pant

Punjab Kings

Captain: Shreyas Iyer

A big thing to note in the IPL men 2026 schedule is the change in several captains. Rishabh Pant leads LSG, Riyan Parag takes over RR full-time, and Axar Patel is DC’s new captain. Also notable — Ravindra Jadeja moved to Rajasthan Royals from CSK in a pre-season trade, while Sanju Samson moved the other way to CSK. These trades have reshuffled team dynamics massively going into IPL 2026.

The most expensive player in the 2026 auction was Cameron Green, bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹25.20 crore. In total, 77 players were sold during the auction with ₹215.45 crore spent in one season.

IPL 2026 Venues — Stadiums & Home Grounds

Phase 1 spans 10 cities. Here’s where each team plays and which stadiums are hosting matches.

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium

Bengaluru — RCB Home

Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai — MI Home

MA Chidambaram Stadium

Chennai — CSK Home

Eden Gardens

Kolkata — KKR Home

Rajiv Gandhi Intl. Stadium

Hyderabad — SRH Home

Arun Jaitley Stadium

Delhi — DC Home

Narendra Modi Stadium

Ahmedabad — GT Home

Barsapara Cricket Stadium

Guwahati — RR Temp Home

BRSABV Ekana Stadium

Lucknow — LSG Home

PCA Stadium

New Chandigarh — PBKS Home

A few things worth knowing about the 2026 IPL schedule venues. Rajasthan Royals are temporarily playing home games in Guwahati (instead of Jaipur) for the first few matches, due to the assembly elections in Rajasthan. Later in the season, they shift back to their Jaipur home. Similarly, Punjab Kings split their home games between New Chandigarh and Dharamshala, while RCB plays five home games in Bengaluru and two in Raipur.

The Chinnaswamy Stadium situation is the most sensitive one. After the tragic stampede during RCB’s 2025 victory parade that claimed 11 lives, Karnataka government set up an Expert Committee to evaluate the stadium’s safety. The inspection happens on March 13, 2026. If clearance isn’t given, alternate venues may be used for Bengaluru matches.

Key Matches to Watch in IPL 2026 Phase 1

Some fixtures in the IPL match schedule 2026 that every fan needs to bookmark right now.

🔥 Match 1: RCB vs SRH — March 28, Bengaluru

The tournament opener. Defending champions RCB come out at home against SRH in what is always a high-octane clash. Rajat Patidar leads RCB for the first time in a full IPL season. Pat Cummins will lead SRH with a powerful squad. This match sets the tone for the entire IPL 2026 season.

🔥 Match 2: MI vs KKR — March 29, Wankhede

Two of the most successful franchises clash on Day 2. Hardik Pandya's MI at Wankhede is always a special atmosphere. KKR, who are bringing in Cameron Green for a massive ₹25.20 crore, will want to make an immediate statement. This one will be packed — Wankhede has pre-sale registration open already.

🔥 Match 11: RCB vs CSK — April 5, Bengaluru

The Southern Derby. RCB vs CSK is one of the most watched fixtures on the IPL calendar every single year. With Jadeja now at RR and Samson at CSK, the team dynamics have changed — but this rivalry always delivers. If Chinnaswamy gets clearance, this will be one of the loudest nights of the year.

🔥 Match 20: MI vs RCB — April 12, Wankhede

The Phase 1 closer. Two marquee franchises to wrap up the first block of the IPL 2026 schedule total match list. RCB would want to finish Phase 1 strong and MI at home at Wankhede is always a tough ask for any touring team.
